A comedy sure to ruffle a few feathers and split the sides of others. A movie about a muslim who discovers he was born a jew, and to see his father all he can do is become a jew and ultimately "jew-it-up".
It's a religious satire, there's a lot of jokes which insult both jews and muslims, no one gets a free ride in this one. Its an attack on cultures and on religion itself, it delivers a punch but all in the comedy way.
At times the movie can get a little dry, it steers away from comedy and goes more for drama, at times it works well and at others times it just falls flat.

Overall: It's a good movie, it has a lot of good laughs which you'd laugh at time and time again. It's not the greatest comedy of all time but its sure to get you chuckling.

 Huge Flop

So was looking forward to seeing this - the premise is a great opportunity to explore but - sadly - a stream of bad language seems to be the film's best hopes of either impressing the viewer or getting laughs. Well - no, we want more than that these days, thank you.

Enjoyed this small British Movie, found, Funny and Fun.
It Shows some home truths that the 2 Different Religions have towards each other.
Omid Djalili was Excellent in the Lead Role. And Richard Schiff was a joy to watch in something very different from his charcter in the West Wing.
The rest of the cast was also spot on.

Very funny but also has a serious side to it.

Omid Djalili brings to the screen a funny look at religious prejudice in a film that makes you laugh and think. A very enjoyable film and one worth having in your collection.

 Omid Djalili is hilarious

This film is worth it for Omid Djalili alone; about time we saw him take a lead role in a film instead of merely appearing as a cameo role.
Credit to writer David Baddiel for making light of what could have been a very tricky subject area; the script is bang-on, you'll be laughing the whole way through, and it really does carry across a message of tolerance and acceptance of different races or religions. Highly recommended.

Whent to see this film expecting a few little chuckles but two hours later I was exiting the cinema and still laughing uncontrollably. Djalili is a comic genius!

A down to earth comedy with alot of heart and emotion

Omid sets the stage with his down to earth Moderate Muslim character. Its easy to relate to the constant battle between culture, religion and identity and this film tackles these head on. The main character shows us a rollercoaster of emotions in this rib ticking, heart warming film. Although a grasp of the Jewish and Muslim religion would help the viewer with some of the jokes.

 Comedy Genius!
