The Ricky Gervais Show: Series 1

Just watched the series on TV and am definately going to invest in this comedy classic. Think it should be called The Karl Pilkington Show really as he is hilarious. If you are a Ricky Gervais fan then it's a must if you're not then I reckon you'll still find it very funny as my wife isn't keen on RG but she found it funny. Monkey News and Karl's Diary are brilliant, buy it.

In response to the other reviewers here, the animation is the stuff of legend, hardly 'basic'. The Hannah-Barbera style here makes you think of The Flintstones or The Jetsons and that's a testament to the animation that it transcends the show itself in terms of familiarity. Here though, is a marriage made in heaven. The style blends perfectly with the original podcast material, bringing to life Karl's weird world. I don't know how they've made it funnier, but they have. I can only assume Ricky and Steve had a big say on how the animation played out. Brilliant stuff.

i totally love this show, i cry laughing every time, the drawings are soo funny also, because they are so bad, but in a good way, it actually gives it it's feel, Karl is a total legend, this is a must buy!!

I have to say that Karl is a comedy genius without even realising it, this should really be called "The Karl Pilkington Show" and I seriously think he should tour.

Those of you that listened to the podcasts on-line will quickly realise that much of the material in this first series is repeated but when it is as funny as this who really cares?

The only thing added by the TV show are the animations to go along with Karl Pilkington's crazy stories and ideas but these really do add the entertainment often making it even more funny.

If you've never listened to Karl Pilkington you are really missing out and I would definitely recommend you pick up this animated comedy gem.
