The Italian Job (1969): Charlie Croker is out of jail and on the make with an ingenious plan for the heist of the century. The trouble is, with the cops and the Mafia on his tail, Charlie finds that grabbing the money is kid's stuff compared to getting away with it...

Perfect role for Michael Caine as thief Charlie Croker, who sets off for Turin, Italy to carry out a daring gold bullion robbery. The getaway chase with the red, white and blue Mini Coopers is pure cinema magic and flies the British flag abroad as a tribute to the long gone days of British Empire building. Each generation should see this film so everybody will be aware of where the now much repeated cult phrase "you're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off" comes from.

The 2003 version, thankfully, was not a remake but a tribute to the 1969 film. They even refer to the original as the inspiration for their getaway plan. Up to date entertaining film in it's own right and the whole box set is a must have.

     Excellent value for money

this box set is excellent for the price.
the original was brilliant and the new re-make is ok, and with them being together it makes the value really good.

Great 1969 Classic which makes this set a 5 Star by itself at a remarkable price the remake is americanized and not too great but box set price makes it a bargain if you simply just want the Original Michael Cain version, Stars Noel Coward and Benny Hill also a must have to any classic film collector.
