October 1988 and small town USA is about to witness the end of the world. It's home to Donnie Darko, a brilliant but troubled teenager, plagued by terrifying visions the meaning of which he alone holds the key.

With his class mate and soul mate Gretchen and a mysterious ex teacher, Grandma Death, he must unravel the strange occurrences infecting his school, his home and his life before a horrifying spectre known only as "Frank" can pull Donnie over the edge of his sanity.

The unlikely genres of sci-fi, horror, romance, and comedy mix bizarrely well in this cult production. The 80s setting makes it almost reminiscent, alhough it feels as if you're right there beside Donnie the whole way through. With such a following, and being such a great thought-provoking film it's surprising that this film is generally sold at low prices, but whatever you do, don't let your curiosity tempt you into seeing the supposed 'sequel' S Darko as Donnie Darko is best left untainted.

Customer rating: 5 out of 5 stars Brilliant Film -a must buy

This is by far one of the best films ive seen, some people may not like it due to the lack of gore or something stupid like that. The storyline of the film however kept me hooked all the way through, creepy feeling all the way through, especially the amazing Cinema Scene. Jake plays the part very well and even though the story still has you asking questions at the end, it makes you want to watch it again to try and get the meaning of it.

BUY IT!!
