Shelter is a tense, nail-biting supernatural thriller from the writer of Identity and the producer of The Ring.

Julianne Moore (A Single Man, The Forgotten) stars as a psychologist investigating the mystery surrounding a patient, played by Jonathan Rhys-Meyers (The Tudors) who seems to have a multiple personality disorder, but the truth is far more terrifying.

This film as a five star rating from me, excelent plot, brilliant finish, and I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. Julianne Moore and Jonathan Rhys Meyers are perfection together, great acting meanful dialog, I was hanging on to every word trying to work with the film, and it still managed to scare me, excite me ,and be mystical. Well worth a viewing, good value for money, I would love to see more films like this.

Extremely gripping, acting superb, if the guy didn't get at least an oscar for acting, then I'd be surprised.

Shelter is a movie of two halves. It starts out as a gripping psychological thriller, with some very strong characters and fascinating plot developments. So far, so good.

But then, around the half-way point, the story drifts woefully off-course and becomes a bog standard supernatural thriller, tossing all originality and mystery out the window.

It never quite makes sense either. It's as if the writers came up with this great story but the Hollywood exec's decided, hmm, its a great psychological thriller but what this needs is some supernatural element and some weird special effects, so we can sell it to the horror fans and make twice as much money.

Result: One great psychological thriller, ruined.

I give it 3 stars for great acting and a great first half.

The director's other (similar) movie, Identity, is far superior because it held its course to the end, without resorting to supernatural cheapness.

 Fantastic

Never seen a film like this. Twists all the way through and left you wondering at the end. Very highly recommended.
