Set in the distant future where the human race has left earth for the stars and colonised other planets. Now under the rule of an oppressive government that rules the galaxy and life has regressed to the point of poverty on many worlds.
The story is about a ship called Serenity and it's crew of misfits that haul cargo, smuggle and many other things to earn a living and survive.
Also check out the movie 'Serenity' which picks up where the series ended and is a great movie.
