Five hundred years in the future there's a whole new frontier, and the crew of the Firefly-class spaceship Serenity is eager to stake a claim on the action. They'll take any job, legal or illegal, to keep fuel in the tanks and food on the table. But things get a bit more complicated after they take on a passenger wanted by the new totalitarian Alliance regime. Now they find themselves on the run, desperate to steer clear of Alliance ships and the flesh-eating Reavers who live on the fringes of space.

I watched this on satelite tv before buying the boxset and loved it just as much the second time around.
An excellent set of special features are included.
I a glad that the feature film Serenity was made to give a little closure to this great show.

I can´t believe this got cancelled, and why a blueray version hasn't been made. I just love firefly. Make more please! It is simple adventures in a "realistic" sci-fi setting. Buy this cult series and you wont regret.

First of all this is NOT the complete series. The complete series was never finished, this is half of what is should have been.
On the plus side, this is one of the funniest and most entertaining sci-fi programs I have ever watched. I'm bewildered why FOX dropped this, it would have been a classic.
Basic premis is cowboys in space, what could be better? A tatty old ship, nine characters, some captivating back stories and a full length feature film that can be had for an extra couple of quid.
