Five hundred years in the future there's a whole new frontier, and the crew of the Firefly-class spaceship Serenity is eager to stake a claim on the action. They'll take any job, legal or illegal, to keep fuel in the tanks and food on the table. But things get a bit more complicated after they take on a passenger wanted by the new totalitarian Alliance regime. Now they find themselves on the run, desperate to steer clear of Alliance ships and the flesh-eating Reavers who live on the fringes of space.

I was really late coming to this series - I loved Buffy / Angel so watched the first episode on TV, and then completely dismissed it after about 15 minutes.
Big mistake - I bought the box set years later simply because it was on offer, and completely fell in love with it.
Actually watched the entire box set in one day - which took a while, and was worth it.
I really can't believe that they cancelled this, hope they make anther film - the first one was impressive.

I came over this by accident a short while ago, and wasnt really expecting much. Within 10 minutes i was completely hooked, and couldnt get enough of it. Sadly the series was canceled in its first season, but the outcry from fans got them the movie Serenity, that is based on this series.

It is a big shame that this show ever fall out of the sky. Myself i was stunned by the effects, the script and the actors performance. This is Joss Whedon's best work trough time, and if you ever saw, and liked, the movie serenity, this is a must buy!
