A Tale of Love and Revenge... and Stamps.

Moist von Lipwig is a con artist of the highest degree: polite, charming, and skillful in his work. Nevertheless, as the story begins he is confined to a cell in Ankh Morpork and scheduled to die within half an hour after having stolen AM$150,000. He is saved when Lord Vetinari offers him a choice: he can walk out of the door (and fall to his death), or he can become Postmaster of the city's run down Post Office. Lipwig chooses the latter, hoping for a chance to escape. Unfortunately for him, Lipwig's first and last attempt at escape is thwarted by a golem named Mr. Pump, who delivers Lipwig back to the office of the Patrician...

Not as gripping as the book

Being a massive Terry Pratchett fan, Going Postal is one of my most favoured books of his, with the dynamics and character of Moist Von Lipwig the book illustrates him as being funny, clever, and devilish but in a loveable way. The sad thing is in the film this was lost a little in the production.

There were also parts missed from the book (expected I suppose due to how detailed books are) however I felt that this would have added more to the film. The missing parts were the tests that Moist had to do when in the post office such as posting letters through a letterbox with dogs the other side etc (if you read the book it was brilliant) however this was missing, along with several other parts.

Apart from that the film was very good, it is better for people to watch this first if they have not read the book, then read the book after to avoid some dissappointment, overall glad that I bought it though

 Absolutely Brilliant

If your a fan of Prachett of course you will love it, the story is good, the characters are interesting, it is very well acting and it is visually stunning. This story is more satirical than the previous two sky adaptations bearing a closer resemblance to our world. Also this version seems to look at sub plot less which in my opinion is a bit of a shame due to the richness of some of Prachetts back story.

All in all it is very good but if it is going to be your first terry prachett adaptation I would watch the hogfather first.
