Don't forget your tissues when you watch this movie. A real dog tale, based on a true story, but Americanised (of course)! The dog is the star of the show, without doubt. A wonderful heartfelt story that should be watched by one and all, but don't be surprised if even the hardest big men blub for hours!

I loved this film but was not prepared for how it would effect me! I cried my eyes out. Made me think of how my own dog sits a and looks out of the window for me coming home.

I watched this on Sunday morning at 8am and was still crying at 8pm!
It was such a touching film and if I think about it now I start crying again.
What a lovely story and the cleverness and love of a pet should never be underestimated. My dogs wondered what was going on with me sobbing for hours on end and trying to make Sunday dinner, I was inconsolable.
Great story and especially based on the true one. Amazing.

this film is brillant and the dog is fantasic it has the tearjerk factor in espically after richard departs and you see the dog going back day after day waiting and looking for him i cried sore at that part then again after the part where his widow see hachi and hugs him its very very sad but its also brillant.

A fantastic family film. This film really moved me and really does show you how much a dog can be devoted to you. A great performance by Richard Gere & you can't help but fall in love with Hachi.

I really didn't expect this film to cause overwhelming amount of tears to flood out! I watched it thinking 'okay,I can expect Lassie style storyline and the odd 'aahs and oohs' but seriously,Hachi (or the dogs that play him) brought out the cynical side of me and crushed it to a pulp.Warning: have a giant size box of tissues handy and if you're not the type to show your emotions in public then sitting in a darkened room will keep your 'hard man' rep intact. Enjoy! And I even googled the real Hachi story............makes this flm even more meaningful.
