Brand New Doctor! Exciting New Adventures!

In the first of our stories, 'Amy's Choice', it's been five long years since Amy travelled in the Tardis with her mysterious Doctor - and when he shows up again, on the eve of the birth of her first child, danger is not far behind him. Amy is faced with a heartbreaking choice that will change her life forever.

'The Hungry Earth' finds us in 2015, and the most ambitious drilling project in history is under way. Dr Nasreen Chaudhry and her team have reached 21 kilometers into the Earth's crust - but something is stirring far below. Amy Pond discovers there's nowhere to run when you can't even trust the ground at your feet.

In the final episode of this volume, 'Cold Blood', the Doctor must face his most difficult challenge yet. It's the most important day in the history of Earth - the dawn of a new age of harmony, or the start of its final war and a battle that the Doctor can't take sides in, a day when nobody must die ...

 Then They Woke Up

Amy's Choice - 5 years after Amy and Rory left the Doctor and the Tardis, they are married, Amy has a bun in the oven and Rory is the town Doctor. Then the 11th Doctor turns up landing in their flower bed. Then they wake up in the Tardis beliveing that was a dream or in the Doctor case a nightmare, then they wake up again. Two worlds, one in the time machine and one in the village that time forgot, but which one is real. A parson called the dream lord might know and wants them to make a choice between the worlds, but is he more than what he appears to be ?

An interesting episode with quite a few plot twists so you never quite no whats real and what is not, 8 out of 10.

The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood

The Doctor, Amy and Rory land the 10 years into the future on Earth where a drilling project is happaning, but as the drill is going down someone is drilling up. Soon Amy is taken underground and the Doctor must try to make it though the most important day on Earth without anyone being killed,

I liked this two parter as it bring back a race last seen in the Peter Davison years, and also a goodbye for now to a good companion who's place in the Tardis, will make it look a little smaller now 10/10.

One part brilliance, two parts enjoyable romp

The first episode on this disc is Amy's Choice, one of the most controversial episodes of the series, many touting it as one of the best episodes the show has ever produced, others not really digging it's trippy nature. Personally I absolutely love it; the Doctor, Amy and Rory find themselves flitting between worlds faced with an unknown protagonist insisting that they chose a reality, choose correctly and they will be released, incorrectly and death awaits. Even in this bizarre scenario all is not as it seems.

The second two parter, which see's the return of the Silurians successfully builds up plenty of scares, the new incarnation having some genuine personality. It's no classic, but the ending of part two had my jaw placed firmly on the ground, one of the finest, most disturbing moments the show has ever enjoyed and asking yet more questions not to be explained until the finale.

 The dreamlord and the silurians.

Another great volume of DW. Episode 7, "Amy's choice" sees Amy and Rory 5 years after they last travelled with the doctor, and then they wake up, or do they? A great episode, which sees the trio having to decide which world is real and which is just a dream. The second two-parter of the series, episodes 8&9 are fantastic. The first episode of the two parter sets the story brilliantly, and the second episode produces more of the excitement. Overall i would give ep 7: 8/10, ep 8: 8/10, ep 9: 9/10.
