From the director of Broken and The Devil's Chair comes a new vision of terror as a newlywed couple are pushed to the limit during a chance encounter with a mysterious drifter in a deserted ghost town.

After a near-fatal crash in the middle of the desert, Clark and his pregnant wife Summer walk to the nearest town, Blood River, in search of help. There they encounter Joseph (Andrew Howard), who offers assistance, but tensions soon mount when the couple's relationship becomes strained, leaving them vulnerable to Joseph's sinister agenda...

Bloody and brutal, Adam Mason's Blood River is a twisted, nerve-shredding thriller that will chill you to the core.

Blood River is utterly fantastic, it's been a long time since a great horror film was made. The ending is brilliant.

The end credits were the best part!

If for any ridiculous reason you think that this film is a good idea to buy, do yourself a favour and skip to the last 30min. You wont have missed anything and will catch the only bits worth watching.

There's pretty much no story , no action and the bits of "horror" that you do see I probably could have done better in the garden with a video camera! The acting is non-existant (or good if you're a fan of Hollyoaks). I've seen better "bad guys" on CBBC. As the other reviews say, the end is deffinatly the best part....

Will be good for those who ave trouble sleeping coz it will send you to sleep in no time!

One hell of a slow burn movie.

What is there to say about blood river? It's a genre defying gem of a movie that rightly deserves to be hailed as one of the best films of last year.

To talk about the movie anymore than the synopsis states would ruin a film experience that is multi-layered and intelligent, something that reminds us that independent cinema can make up for the shallow movie making that dominates mainstream movies.

The film has production values that punch far above its budget with cinematography, acting, writing and directing that takes the slow burn approach and kicks you in the face with an emotionally intense ending that leaves you numb.

Incredibly well put together, Adam Mason and Simon Boyes have delivered the best film of their career. Do not go into this expecting a horror/slasher road movie because you will be sorely disappointed. Watch it with an open mind and if you enjoy film making that challenges you, emotionally and mentally, then pick this up.

Normally these type of movies dont appeal to me as i always feel im left disappointed, but on this occasion was forced to watch it by my girlfriend and was surprised, the build up was spot on and it did everything i expect a good terror film to do
