Slow moving, but good if you're a Vermeer fan

The scenes resemble Vermeer's work so much it is uncanny. The acting is good but the film overall is slow moving. A good film if you are a fan of Vermeer's paintings.

I did like a movie a lot,but because I was reading a book just before the movie came out, have to say the book is much more better.Mainly because they did not show a lot of things that are describe in book and also the end of movie is different than in book.I do recommend it to everyone who loves romance and likes art as well.I was reading a book in english, which is my second language but simply loved it.
The Film plays like a painting of Vermeer's.

Both Johansson & Firth are perfect for the roles & their performances are mesmerising.A slow but perfectly paced film for it's subject,it is relaxing & enjoyable. The story is an interesting idea on how the painting came about, but not I believe factual as it was more likely one of his daughter's who posed.Nevertheless it draw's us into the magical world of the painter. There is also a villian & Jealous wife thrown in to spice thing's up.Not normally my choice but I liked it.If you missed it on tv,good value at £4.99.
