The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy Box Set (6 Discs)

The price for this gem is 12 quid now. If you don't buy it for this price then you are completely mad. If this set was 30 quid it is still worth it. Each film oozes quality and so good they are in a whole different league. These films deserve the awards they have recieved and the qulity of the DVD's themselves are good. They truely are blockbusters.

the lord of the rings has got to be the best trilogy ever made the story is great the the acting is the best that you expect from this film christopher lee plays the bad guy as good as you would expect him to its a most film to have if you into the lord of the rings

The Lord Of The Rings is undoubtably my favourite trilogy. You simply lose yourself in it. The first two films end abrubtly, making the three films just like one big nine hour film. I can't even recall any boring bits in that nine hours! One night I had recently watched The Fellowship, I decided to watch the first half an hour or so of The Two Towers, but I accidently watched that and The Return of the King to the very end. Because it's so exhaustingly long you actually FEEL like you were part of the epic adventures in middle earth. It is an absolutely beautiful trilogy and I massively recommend it. I gauruntee that this will find its way to the top of your favourites chart after the first viewing!
It's just a shame Tolkien didn't get to see it!

One ofthe best trilogies ever made, but would have have been even better if Peter Jackson had stuck solely to the story line.
For instance where in Tolkien's book does the elf Arwen ( Liv Tyler)carry Frodo over the river away from the black riders?
I think it's a bit arrogant of directors to think they should change parts of a literary Masterpiece to their liking.
The 1970 cartoon version is more faithful to the book.
