'A Beautiful Mind' begins with Nash (Russell Crowe) at Princeton, where he struggles to think of an original idea, and the stroke of genius that will make him matter. Nash is eccentric, socially awkward, and extremely competitive. Eventually, he finds the inspiration for his innovative and influential work on game theory. He's chosen for a post at MIT, which includes crucial code-breaking work for the US government. There, he meets a beautiful and brilliant student, Alicia (Jennifer Connelly). They marry but their happiness is threatened...

Director Ron Howard delivers one of his finest efforts with his extraordinary film, 'A Beautiful Mind'. Based loosely on Sylvia Nasar's acclaimed biography of mathematician John Forbes Nash, the film is a compelling look at one man's genius, his debilitating mental illness, and the fine line between the two. The film received a total of 8 Academy Award nominations and was a winner for Best Film and Best Director (Ron Howard).

 Stunning, just stunning

I can't reccomend this film enough, it just bowled me over. Although I half guessed the twist in the middle of the film, some of it was still a big enough shock to me say "oh my God" out loud.
So many films feauturing mental health problems show a very one-sided point of view on it. What makes this film so brilliant is that it's just as easy to feel Alica's pain, watching the man she loves go so badly... wrong.
The end was equally satisfying, enough to leave you feeling warm inside and full of admiration for John Nash.

 Outstanding!!!

It took a lot of pestering from a mate in work and my girlfriend for me to actually sit down and watch this, but when I did I realised I should've listened to them much earlier. This is one of the best films I've ever seen!

It's one of those films that come along once in a Blue Moon where you just can't take your eyes off the screen and don't want it to end.

Absolutely brilliant!!!

A Phenomenal film - well worthy of best picture

This film is 2001's best picture for a reason. A fantastic story with several twists where you just don't know whats the truth.
Russel Crow gives one of his best performances and is worthy of an Oscar nomination for leading role. Emotional, and dramatic its one for those who like thinkers and films that go deep.

Also its based on a true story so you know its got to be good. Great performances by Ed Harris, Paul Bettany and Jenifer Connelly.

 Moving

This movie is breaking boundaries when it comes to public opinion about schizophrenia. Not only does Russel Crowe give an Oscar-worthy performance; the approach on the subject is humane and in a non-speculative fashion. Moving and touching, it sure will make you cry.
