In this prequel to 'The Silence Of The Lambs', Edward Norton stars as ex-FBI agent Will Graham, an expert investigator who quit the Bureau after almost losing his life in the process of capturing Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins).

Years later, after a series of particularly grisly murders, Graham reluctantly agrees to come out of retirement and assist in the case. But he soon realises that the best way to catch this killer, known as the Tooth Fairy, is to find a way to get inside the killer's mind. And the closest thing to that would be to probe the mind of another killer who is equally brilliant and equally twisted. For Graham, that means confronting his past and facing his former nemesis, the now-incarcerated Lecter...

Red dragon sits comfortably between Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal, as it is not as good as the former and much better than the latter.
The movie is more of a entertainer than a hardcore thriller.
The story is good and engaging, and I helped by a very talented cast, including Ralph Fiennes, Edward Norton, Anthony Hopkins and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Overall it is a good movie.

 A must-see film

This is possibly one of the greatest films ever made, and is in my opinion the best of the Hannibal series. It does justice to the novel and really is terrifying and shocking right to the very end. This was the first I saw of the Hannibal Lecter series of films and I loved it, despite being terrified. Anthony Hopkins is simply superb as Hannibal and Ralph Fiennes is fantastic as Francis Dolarhyde, both are absolutely terrifying. This really is a must-see for all horror fans and even those who do not normally like horror movies. This will without a doubt keep you on the edge of your seat.

This is set before "Silence of the Lambs" before Dr. Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) was locked away but despite the lack of Hopkins in the film he provides his best performance yet in this film. Ed Norton was great as the detective who goes in search of Ralph Fiennes monsterous character after he managed to put Dr. Lecter away. If you liked the previous films then this is a must see but keep away from the recently released prequel which is terrible filmmaking. Enjoy

 Chilling, But Entertaining!

I only just watched this film about a week ago and well what can I say I loved it.
This film includes some strong performances from Anthony Hopkins playing the cannibal he is and he plays it brilliantly, Edward Norton who is great as a cop investigating murders and Ralph Fiennes who brings us a remarkable serial killer.

The way Ralph Fiennes plays the serial killer it is truly chilling but he plays it amazingly well.
Overall I reccomend this film to any people who liked the 'Hannibal' and 'The Silence Of The Lambs.'

 Best Hannibal Film

Superb acting, incredible story and a satisfying ending. This is a perfect film! It's dark and always gripping-captivating in fact. Dr Lector and Graham have a creepy relationship which is just as creepy as it was with Clarice. The reason this manages to be better than with Clarice (Silence Of The Lambs) is because the climax is tense and the epilogue satisfying. I never could get over the way Clarice just stumbled over the killer almost by accident in 'Lambs but this is much more clever and thought provoking. For me, the Hannibal film to avoid is precisely that; Hannibal. However, Hannibal Rising, Red Dragon and Silence Of The Lambs are all brilliant. You can definately see their influence on Saw and the like!
