Victor Maynard is a middle-aged, solitary assassin, who lives to please his formidable mother, despite his own peerless reputation for lethal efficiency. His professional routine is interrupted when he finds himself drawn to one of his intended victims, Rose. He spares her life, unexpectedly acquiring in the process a young apprentice, Tony. Believing Victor to be a private detective, his two new companions tag along, while he attempts to thwart the murderous attentions of his unhappy client.

Another fantastic British Film.
It hasn't got nearly enough acclaim as it deserves.
I'm a massive lover of the real 'Brit' productions and this is most definitely one of them.
Bill Nighy is fantastic as the assassin and to the people that think that Rupert Grint is merely Ron Weasley, are utterly wrong.
The support cast is brilliant...from Martin Freeman, Rupert Everett and just everyone else...they're superb.
As for the film, the Birthday scene is just adorable!!!

Seriously, a must buy!!!!!!!!

 BRILLIANT COMEDY!!!

Top 100  Reviewer Top 100 DVD Reviewer

This is a film that hasnt exactly be glowing with great reviews but ive gotta say i really enjoyed it. Bill Nighy plays a hitman Victor Maynard who has the job of assassinating Rose (Emily Blunt) a master thief until Tony (Rupert Grint) gets caught up in the cross fire and the three of them go on the run from the people who hired Victor. There are some really funny scenes in this film even though it can be quite predictable. Bill Nighy always makes any film better and Emily Blunt is really funny in this role whilst Rupert Grint still seems to be in the Ron Weasly suit. There are also good performances from Rupert Everett and Martin Freeman to support in what is a brilliant but extremely underrated film. Enjoy

Superb entertainment in a refined style.

A gorgeous con artist sells a fake painting to a powerful gangster and discovers that crime doesn't pay when her unsatisfied customer hires Europe's top assassin to take her out. But the moment Victor (Bill Nighy) gets Rose (Emily Blunt) in his crosshairs, he hesitates. The situation grows tense when Victor vows to protect the sprightly scammer rather than rubbing her out, and finds himself the unwitting mentor to a young protegee.
