Heartbreaker

i was pleasantly surprised by this excellent rom-com with a difference, which stars Vanessa Paradis and Romian Duris.

Set in the gorgeous surroundings of Monaco, (which will make you want to board the first plane to the French Riviera once the credits of this film start to roll,) we are introduced to protagonist Alex (Duris) a professional 'break-up artist', who is hired to break up the marriage of Juliette (Paradis) and her English millionaire fiancee Jonathan (Andrew Lincoln).

No prizes for guessing what happens next, but the predicability of the plot doesn't matter as the film is carried along well by the chemistry between the leads, the great overall cast, and above all, a script that is genuinely funny, between very likeable characters.

If you fancy a warm, sunny film, and you're a fan of decent rom-coms (and I know how many dire ones there are) like the excellent notting Hill, then definitely go for this film, you won't be disappointed. 5 stars.

I saw this movie a couple days ago and thought it was especially funny and action-packed for being a rom com. I also thought Romain Duris and Vanessa Paradis were a great match. I will probably buy this movie for my girlfriend for Christmas because she liked it a lot!

This mostly in French comedy film is excellent. Smart, witty and entertaining without being too cheesy, serving up a refreshingly enjoyable rom-com. A total welcomed surprise and I cannot praise it enough for it's fresh style, formula and efforts. A triumph.

Romain Duris stars as the lead in a professional 'heart breaker' team that persuades unsure women to leave their current partners. All is going well until one job, when he has to convince head-strong rich girl Juliette (played by Paradis).

I didn't realise it was subtitled until we started watching the film.. But oh my days, it was really REALLY GOOD! It's packed with everything you need for a great night in: comedy, romance, action.. It would have been better if we didn't have to read throughout the film, but they made it sooo good, even my dad watched it and laughed!
Great acting, great story - definitely will be updating my little DVD collection! :)
