Fast And Furious 5

You may have thought that this franchise would have run out of gas by now. Think Again. If you are a fan of the fast and furious franchise then Fast Five is a movie that must be on the top of your list of films to see.

Fast Fives opening sequence starts in the thick of the action, just where the Fast and the Furious 4 left off, with the inevitable consequences. From here Brian and Mia head to Rio to seek refuge and a quiet life, leaving Dom yet to be seen, although we know he is alive. The pair take a job, which lets say, probably doesnt end in quite the way it should. This includes some explosive action sequences and some carjacking with a difference.

This leads to a bigger, much more elaborate job, one which seems too good to be true, a job so big its pure insanity, one which above all else is going to require some well-known faces from the previous films. Oh and one massive DEA Agent named Luke Hobbs.

Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris are back which their sense of humour and have some choice lines, injecting the film with much-needed laughs.

Full of foot-to-the-floor action, bikini babes and gleaming hoods, Fast Five, makes no attempt to adjust the formula that seems to work so well. There are two or three brief visits to the street racing scene of Rio, showing that the makers haven forgotten their roots. The film boasts some high end muscle cars with the odd import thrown it to spice it up a little.

The Heist itself has some awesome sequences and some very impressive driving to say the least and the finale, which leaves half of downtown Rio in tatters, sums up this series: full-throttle.

The movie has a long run time and it some 50 minutes before the heist plan begins to commence, however it never feels long, there is plenty of action to keep you entertained, you wont be twiddling your fingers thats for sure.

Fast Five has some interesting twists in it to add to the excitement and it was suggested that this would be the last film from the franchise but this may not be quite true - Be sure to watch the movie until after the credits for a crucial cut scene.

Wasnt too bothered going into watch this as Part 4 was lame.
But Fast Five blew me away, pure Fun Adrenalin Pumping Action
The story moves away from Racing and Robbing to a more Heist Type of movie.
The Action sequences and Location were Fast and Energetic.
Vin Diesel and the old Gang were good, but it was Dwayne THE ROCK Johnston that stole the show, rampaging about like a Indestructible Human Terminator. Magnificent.
The series could now go on and on. Change Locations for each movie and bring in a Bona Fide Superstar as the nemesis, I'm thinking Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold, Sly Stallone. The Mind boggles.
One of the Magazine reviews I read for this movie described it as a WWE kind version of the classic Pacino and De Niro starrer HEAT.
And I think that sums it up pretty well.
P.S watch out for the post credits sequence at the end, as it sets up things for future instalments!!!!

Hot cars, gleaming cars, hot girls, races, chases and explosions are what one would expect from a Fast and Furious film now, especially since the successful 2009 fourth film and that's just what gets delivered in the fifth film.

Essentially it's Fast & Furious meets The Italian Job set in Rio............and with an action filled opening that picks up directly from the closing seconds of Fast and Furious and a super chase finale that is pure car carnage candy the only minor gripe is a slightly sluggish midsection whilst the heist gets planned. At a run time of over two hours that's pushing it for a film of this nature and it could have been even snappier if about twenty minutes had been trimmed along the way. The cast all know what they are doing by now and new addition The Rock fits in just fine as the law on the trail of Dom and the gang.

However, these are minor complaints and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the film for the escapism and silliness it provided. With an ending post-credits that also seeks to set up a sixth film, I wouldn't bet against another installment in a couple of years.

When I saw this film I thought it wouldn't be as good as the rest... but I was mistaken this was absolutely brilliant fantastic , it had action , it had an actual story line.

Muscle cars driven by pecflexing guys watched by girls in hot pants.
You would think the Fast And The Furious franchise would have run out of gas by now. Think again.
This latest instalment beginning immediately where the previous episode left off is like The Avengers for F&F fans.
With disparate characters from past episodes recalled to duty it's like Dominic Torreto (Vin Diesel) says to now pregnant sister Mia (Jordana Brewster) "The family just got bigger."
Still getting bigger is what this car crunching franchise is all about and on that score FF5 does not disappoint. Forget FF4's opening gas tanker heist. Here we have barely taken our seats before Mia and ex-cop boyfriend Brian (Paul Walker) have busted Dom out of the prison bus we last left him on.
Say what you like about director Justin Lin's lack of subtlety (or understanding of the laws of physics), but he knows how to kick start an action movie.
Heading to Rio with intent to lay low, the trio then take a job for cash hijacking three cars from a moving train in the films stand out sequence. But double-crossed by their Brazilian partners, led by ruthless drug overlord Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida), the gang is falsely fingered for the murders of three US DEA agents on the train.
Enter tank-like federal super cop Luke Hobbs (tank -like Dwayne Johnson), who storms into Rio to take them down. But can he do it before Dom and co backed by an F&F dream team pull off One Last Job?
With writer Chris Morgan carving his Brazilian villains from a boxset of Latino cliches, the influx of old friends is highly welcome. In particular, 2 Fast 2 Furious alumni Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris bag some choice lines, fuel-injecting the film with much-needed laughs. But the big arrival, of course, is Johnson.
Repeatedly going toe-to-toe with Diesel,as they're auditioning for The Expendables 2,The Rock slots into this universe of ultra machismo with ease - though a late-breaking character development will likely summon as many jeers as cheers.
Other toe-curling moments from Lin's tourist board aerial shots of Rio to Dom's unconvincing chemistry with a Brazilian female cop (Elsa Pataky) ensure this is no mould-breaker. But this being his third F&F in a row, Director Lin knows his crowd.
A brief visit to Rio's street-racing scene shows he hasn't forgotten the franchise's origins, even if this at times feels more like The Italian Job with better cars.
And the finale which leaves half of downtown Rio in tatters sums up this series full-throttle action that doesn't care how preposterous it is.
Full of foot to the-floor action, bikini babes and gleaming hoods,FF5 makes no attempt to adjust the formula. But why should it? Converts may be scarce, but fans will lap up its major league mayhem. Oh, and stay for the end-credits cliffhanger.
