To be honest the trailer was a lot better than the whole film! It was OK, but it didn't touch me and I didn't particularly like the lead male character. Anne Hathaway was good though, and I thought she did a good Northern accent.

  Loved it

Being now on my 40's, I was bewitched by this film. It really touched me somewhere deep and will keep on watching it forever, for me it has already become a classic

Bought for my Girlfriend as she loves these sort of films, ended up watching it with her and I have to say that I enjoyed it too.

Great film to watch!

This is a lovely film, well acted with a strong story. However, you will find it a little frustrating if you have read the book because the film really is a snap shot of each of the paragraphs in the book so you will be left wanting more. Having said that it is a really enjoyable movie. Although Anne Hathaway is a wonderful actress I can't help feel that she was miscast as Emma - I would have preferred Carey Mulligan but then I am not a casting director!!! ENJOY!

  Worth a watch.

I was so excited after finishing the book to get the dvd. The original story is just beautifully written. I did like the casting of the film but I just thought the film really rushed through the story which I think made it hard to develop the characters and really get to the heart of the story. It did however stick to most of the main events of the story quite closely and was enjoyable. Film adaptations are never really going to live up to the ability of a novel to create the same level of enjoyment and imagination. But overall it's a nice little film and worth a try.

I fear i may cause some backlash here but I was sooooo disappointed witht the film after loving the book. The lead female role of Emma should have been taken by a British actress, Anne Hathaway's accent verged between Scottish, Yorkshire and Home Counties, what were the casting people thinking? It all moved too fast for me I'm afraid and didn't have any of the depth of the book. Surprise hit was the actress who placed Dexters first wife. A fairly insignificant character in the book I thought she shone in every scene she was in. Should have learnt my lesson after the Time Travellers Wife, see the movie then read the book! Sorry...

One Day was brilliant, but nothing beats the book. I feared the film would wreck a good book. How wrong was I? The film was beautiful yet witty. M heart literally sank due to the heartbreaking ending, how you see it in the film is like a horror film, you just jump cos it happens so fast. Other than that beautiful. Don't forget your tissues!!

This is such a good film one that is EXACTLY like the book so if you've read the book you won't be dissapointed. I got it yesterday and I can't wait to get all snuggled up on the sofa to watch it.
And remember your tissues you will cry!

  Heartbreakingly romantic

It says on the box, 'heartbreakingly romantic',and it is just that. It is witty and entertaining too, one to buy and keep all to yourself.
