A blood chilling, action-packed thriller about modern day vampires unlike any previously encountered. Wesley Snipes is Blade, the ultimate vampire hunter, and immortal warrior who possesses the superhuman strength and cunning of a vampire but shares none of their weakness.
Able to walk by day and stalk by night, Blade must confront his ultimate adversary, the omnipotent vampire overlord Deacon Frost, Stephen Dorff, who is intent on leading an underground legion of vampires to conquer mankind. Blade must use his awesome powers and razor-sharp weaponry like never before to prevent the annihilation of the entire human race.

Stephen Dorff as Deacon Frost made the movie

I'd avoided watching Blade for along time preferring movies like Interview with the Vampire. However on watching it I found it wildly entertaining. I think anyone who likes vampire movies will find this worth watching. I haven't actually read the comics so I can't compare the movie to them. Wesley Snipes plays the brooding leather wearing, half vamp brilliantly but what's even better is the character Deacon Frost played by Stephen Doff. Stephen Dorff plays the human hating, pure blood resenting vampire in a scary but funny way so although the villain you end up kind of liking him. The difference with the film Blade is it's not a vampire love story like say Queen of the Dammed. So if you want more action and fighting this is a movie for you.
Wesley Snipes in one of his best

Wesley Snipes was perfectly cast as the lead in this movie and it is a great all round vampire action movie. Stephen Dorff also filled the adversary role very well.
The movie has a banging soundtrack and the intro sequence has to rate as one of the best introductions to a character on an action movie.
Unfortunately CGI towards the end and at the very end is a little disappointing and a let down. As a DVD, this ranks amongst one of the poorest in terms of picture quality that i own. Very disappointing on that front.
THE WORLD YOU KNOW IS JUST A SUGAR COATED TOPPING !
