Just amazing- I adored this film when I was little - Im nearly 24 and have to say I still cried my eyes out when Mufassa died. I hadnt seen it in so long as it hadnt been out on DVD in ages so jumped at the chance to see it at the cinema as also missed that boat as kid. It was just awesome. Timon and Pumba are hilarious, the characters are so perfectly put together and they are just a comedy duo! Cant wait to show my kids this when I have them. I felt like a big kid watching it again and it will, without a doubt, be on my 2011 Christmas list. I can honestly say they dont make them like this anymore. Movie and Animation perfection.
The lion king is my fav movie of all time its really inspiring and alot of fun to dance and sing along to. AMAZING film buy it now :D
In the top 5 of my best disney films!! Brilliant music and brilliant characters!!
Although to be honest it comes second in my all time favourite Disney list after 1991's 'Beauty and The Beast' that in no way diminishes the superb legacy of what was arguably Disney's biggest success of the 1990s.
The film itself is as great as it always was although it's amazing to think that it's been 18 years now since it was first released because it still looks like it was created yesterday (the advantage of animation!). One that everyone in the family can enjoy and appreciate. Although the picture quality here suffers a little in comparison to the Blu-ray (which is jaw-droppingly bright and pristine) version it's still a truly memorable piece of animation artistry!
Definitely one for anyone's collection!
I was brought up with the lion king, it came out when i was 4 years old, ive always loved the film. I have just bought the dvd and they've done it amazingly well. Even the menu area of the dvd has been made nicely and swaps to different scenes from the movie whilst you choose what to watch. I highly recommend the lion king to anyone, young or old. Its a great and extremely well made movie. The reason it is regarded as a masterpiece. I would suggest this film out of all the Disney films as the one to show your children, even from a young age as it leaves such an imression and will be an all time favourite with them. Just an excellent buy, well worth the money, just for the memories of such a beautiful film.
