Welcome to the singular vision of Clive Barker and his landmark horror opus!

Hellraiser In a place between pleasure and pain, there is sensual experience beyond limits. And in a world between paradise and purgatory, there is a horror that feeds the souls of evil. When Frank Cotton solves the mystery of a Chinese puzzle box he enters the world of the Cenobites, a world where the cruel sadists thrive on pain. Restored to life by the blood of his brother Larry, Frank rises to feed on the life force of others. When Larry's wife agrees to provide the sacrifices he needs, the chills are just beginning...

Hellraiser 2 - Hellbound Kirsty Cotton (Ashley Laurence) is committed to a psychiatric hospital run by the strange Dr. Channard; when the doctor uncovers the secret of the Lament Configuration, he resurrects the skinless corpse of Kirsty's evil stepmother (Claire Higgins) and calls forth the legions of the damned led by Pinhead (Doug Bradley). Now, the doorway to Hell has been re-opened, the brutal Cenobites again walk the earth and the sweet suffering of evil has only just begun!

Hellraiser 3 - Hell On Earth Ambitious reporter Joey Summerskill is changed forever when she witnesses the horrific death of a tormented teenage boy. Determined to find the truth behind the gruesome vision, she discovers the Lament Configuration Box which opens the door to the Cenobites' demonic world. Once again Pinhead walks the earth: his one desire being to reclaim the box and free himself forever from the powers of Hell...

This four movie collection is the best of all 8 and counting Hellraiser movies. Parts 4 -8 are not included for the simple fact, that there not very good and parts 6-8 have not even been released onto reigion 2 yet ( no great loss ! )
Hellraise 1987
This is the best of the bunch, being one of the greatest British horror movies in the past 20 years.
Also the music by Christopher Young is mesmerizing in it's power and adds extra quality to this excellent low budget movie.
*****
Hellraiser 2 : Hellbound 1988
continues the story ,but never manager to be anywhere near as good. The film takes us to Hell, But if hell is a load of wobbley cardboard corridors, it's not such a terrifying place !
The music again by Christopher Young is still amazing, making the film feel better than it actually is, but the make-up effects are still amazing.
**
Hellraiser 3 : Hell on earth. 1992
This is the one where they tried to turn Pinhead into a Freddy copy. This never works as Pinhead was a differnt beast. But the energy of the film is high and the gory effect still do impress. Not as good as the excellent original but a improvment on the second movie.
***
In all ,a mix bag of films, but all do entertain, But compare these offering to the terrible late additions. and you will see that these are far superior movies.
There is only one movie in this series that does raise Hell and that is the original 1987 classic.

 Excellent collection

Presented in this box set is the Hellraiser Trilodgy.

The first 2 films are classics and deserve to be in everyone's horror collection. The only film that lets the box set down is the third film that is poor compared to the first 2.

Couple the box set with lots of extra features and you ahve a gem of a collection that should be on everyone's shelf.

 Great set

Its a really good set for the money, There's commentarys on each film and enough featurettes to make it worth the money. although I managed to watch all the interviews and documentaries in one sitting so there isn't a huge amount. If you have a blu-ray player I recommended getting the first film on Blu-ray aswell as this set. It has some more interviews and the picture is worth it.

There are 8 Hellraiser films but I really don't recommend anything after 3.4 (bloodlines) is watchable. But the rest have no real connection to the first ones and are a waste of time. I watched them all out of curiousity and they really are dire.

This boxset contains some of my favourite horror films ever! Whilst the packaging isn't as good as the other trilogy released in a fold-out puzzle box, this is still a good collection and well worth the prize.

Clive Barker has woven himself a dark and gritty plot involving the Cenobites, demons who thrive on others pain and misery. The atmosphere throughout the first two films is dark and oppressive, helped by a menacing soundtrack by Christopher Young.

Whilst I won't go into the plot, this is a horror film in the true sense of the word, this is nothing like watered down horror for the MTV generation of nowadays!
