It has the quality visuals of a western film with the alternative views and charms of a foreign film. I loved the colours used and the awesome Russian land scape Konstantin Lavronenko gives a great performance and is now a best actor winner at cannes for his new film by the same director. It could be argued that the two younger actors really do lead the film to its climactic end. On the outset it may seem quiet straight forward but it's full Religious undertones but you may miss. This has been one of the best films i've seen this year...even beating Die Hard 4.0..yeah right! 7/10
