From the very first episode of the very first season Supernatural has rarely failed to entertain and, despite the writers' strike cutting this season to a slightly shorter 16 episodes, for me season three remains the pinnacle of this excellent show.

Throughout this series we are given a mix of interesting mythology episodes alongside some of the best stand-alone episodes this show has ever produced. With two series behind them the writers seem more confident to experiment with increasingly crazy scenarios and with Dean's life hanging in the balance throughout there is always a sense of tension hanging over proceedings.

A must see for fans of show like The X-Files.

  Supernatural Season 3

Season 2 of 'Supernatural' was a lot to follow on from and although season 3 is good I think it suffers a little bit from that year's writers strike which cut 5 episodes off the normal complement and resulted in a sense of things in the main storyline being a bit rushed towards the end of the season.

The big theme in season 3 was Dean and his ticking clock and the appearance of Ruby and Bela - two new characters that worked to varying degrees, with Ruby arguable becoming more important to the show's mythology as things progressed. However there are still several fun stand-alone shows - including the bonkers special Christmas episode!! - and Supernatural is never entirely dull!!

Good stuff!
