All 8 Halloween slasher horror classics!

Halloween Perhaps the most influential and successful independent film ever made, 'Halloween' is the movie that put director John Carpenter on the map. An exercise in simple, pure horror, 'Halloween' takes us into the world of a mad killer, Michael Myers, who at a very young age stabbed his older sister to death. Locked away for many years in a mental hospital Michael escapes one night and returns to his home to continue his killing spree.

Halloween II Once again, Michael Myers pursues the beautiful teenager Laurie and satisfies his blood lust with random slaughter: loving couples, a defenceless nurse, a luckless guard and many more fall prey to Myers as he wields axe, bread-knife and even medical syringe in his relentlessly violent quest.

Halloween III: Season Of The Witch Witness to a series of bizarre and horrifying incidents, Dr Dan Challis investigates and comes face to face with the sinister figure of Conal Cochran, maker of Halloween masks. Intent on reviving the rites of all Hallows Eve, a night of ancient sacrifice when, long ago, the hills ran red with the blood of animals and children, the diabolical toymaker is planning a devilish trick or treat for the children of America.

Halloween IV: The Return Of Michael Myers Michael Myers escapes from years of comatose incarcerations. Only one man knows of the true horrors of this mad man - Dr Loomis (Donald Pleasence) who also returns to Haddonfield to do battle once again with the devil incarnate.

Halloween V: The Revenge Of Michael Myers Myers continues his gruesome quest to destroy his niece Jamie who, with the help of psychiatrist Dr Loomis (Donald Pleasence), confronts Myers in a fight to the death.

Halloween VI: The Curse Of Michael Myers In one single horrifying night, Michael Myers' masked reign of terror changed Halloween forever! Now, six years after he was presumed dead in a fire, Myers has returned to kill again, and this time there's no escape!

Halloween VII: H20 - 20 Years Later Now the headmistress of a private school, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) is still struggling with the horrifying, 20-year old memories of the maniacal killer Michael Myers, when he suddenly reappears with a vengeance! This Halloween, his terror will strike a whole new generation!

Halloween VIII: Resurrection Freddie Harris arranges for a group of six local students to spend the night in the childhood home of Michael Myers and broadcast all the events in real time over the internet. Little does he know that Myers is returning home for Halloween...

Top 10  Reviewer Top 10 DVD Reviewer

This brilliantly packaged box-set contains the first 8 Halloween movies, all the movies come with a range a good extra features, but the movies are a mixed bag, ranging from absolute classic, to just absolutely pathetic !
Listed below is the ratings for the movies individually.

HALLOWEEN 1978
The best slasher movie of all time, and hardly a drop of blood spilled. This is just brilliantly sustained tension.
*****

HALLOWEEN 2 1981
This all happens on the same night as the first, but there is allot more blood. A very good sequel, but the original is still far better.
***

HALLOWEEN 3 SEASON OF THE WITCH 1982
No Michael, nothing to do with parts 1 and two.
It runs like a very silly Twilight Zone episode.
With a silly story about a evil toy maker and some masks.
**
HALLOWEEN 4 1988
This is more like it, Micheal is back !
More of the same as parts one and two, but now feels very familiar and un-original. The film is livened up by a excellent roof top sequence !
***
HALLOWEEN 5 1989
A very shabby addition, feels very tired and boreing.
Again livened up by a pretty good lift shaf sequence.
**

HALLOWEEN 6 1995
Pooly directed, poorly edited, makes little sense.
The deaths are stupid and over the top. The worst of the series, pathetic !
*
HALLOWEEN H20 1998
This at times comes very close to the original, the tension is built up and it's alwAys good to see Jamie Lee Curtis back in her ground breaking role. A excellent slasher !
****
HALLOWEEN RESURRECTION 2003
A massive step back in quality, Halloween crossed with big brother. Poor acting, boreing characters and very few shocks !
**

This is a box-set for completist's, so if you a a casual viewer of this series, buy the ones you like individually.
This collection may be a mixed bag of quality, but when the films are good they out class most of any other slasher series, and out-shine all the Friday the 13th's.
The main down side to this collection is that it is now outdated as it does not contain the superb 2007 Rob Zombie remake. No doubt there will be a nine movie box-set to be released soon, and it might be just as well holding onto your cash for that to be released.
