The Coen Brothers' Collection

Included here are four of the Coen Brothers' best films and a perfect introduction to the filmmakers for anyone interested. All are intricately observed, as is usually the case with the brothers' work, and generally do require repeated viewings to take everything in, which makes this collection a must-buy on DVD. The Coen's work generally comprises the accessable comedy/thriller (Big Lebowski, Blood Simple, Hudsucker Proxy)and the more esoteric character studies (Barton Fink - also The Man Who Wasn't There and A Serious Man that aren't included here). There are minimal extras included in the set, Deleted scenes from Fink and a fake commentary scripted by the Coens on Blood Simple, but since the movies are solid gold, this is a minor complaint.
