Dr. Martin Harris (Liam Neeson, Taken) awakens after a car accident in Berlin to discover that his wife (January Jones, Mad Men) suddenly doesn't recognise him, and another man has assumed his identity. Ignored by disbelieving authorities and hunted by mysterious assassins, he finds himself alone, tired, and on the run. Aided by an unlikely ally (Diane Kruger, Inglourious Basterds), Martin plunges headlong into a deadly mystery that will force him to question his sanity, his identity, and just how far he's willing to go to uncover the truth.

 a bourne replica!!

| | See all jonnyaces87's reviews (6)

if this film was brought out before the bourne identity, i probably would of given this an extra star! however as it wasn't it does seem a complete replica of the bourne series. so close it is, that change liam neeson for matt damon then it could be called a sequel! however on the plus side it is a good watch, intriguing and liam neeson as always does a steady job on this, very believable in the role. diane kruger also does good with what she gets but under-used, she has the potential to make it big!! so would recommend watching before buying!!

 ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

It is simply and utterly amazing! It is so intense and makes you want to scream at points. It is violent and scary and even a bit funny.

The film opens with Dr Martin Harris and his wife Liz on an aeroplane. Suddenly realising that he forgot his brief case, Martic gets in a taxi, leaving his wife in a hotel. Things do not go according to plan. A fridge falls off a truck at trememdous speed, forcing taxi driver Gina to swerve into a river. They only just survive. But when Matrin returns to see Liz, he finds her with another man, who insists that he is Dr Martin Harris. No one believes Neeson and soon he, Gina and an ally must fight to survive as the operation draws to a terrifying close...

The acting is superb. The best acting i've ever seen! I thought Neeson and Jones in particular were excellent! Watch it in cinemas now! I am going to pre-order this DVD for sure!

Typical wooden acting and predictive story

I'm sorry but am i the only person who thinks Liam Neeson is so one dimensional in his acting...WOODEN. The man seems to only have one emotion when talking and thats seems to be being bored . Perhaps its me but the best thing i've seen him in is The A-Team which is saying something.

 very good.

this has been compared to 'taken'. why? because it has the same lead actor? sorry, nothing like taken, but very good on its own merits. it has been compared to the 'bourne' films. i disagree. i have not liked any of the bourne films, as im not a fan of the overestimated matt 'yawn' damon. 'unknown' is a very good film in its own right,a slow burner, but a brilliant story, well acted by all concerned. great to see bruno ganz (hitler in 'downfall'), and Sebastian Koch ('the lives of others' and 'black book), certainly the cream of the german film industry. all in all a very good film.

 Love it

I love this film. I do not think it's a Bourne replica as stated in a previous review. It's got a great story, well acted by Liam and just one of those films that keep you guessing right up until the very end. If you like action packed thrillers then this film is a must. You won't be disappointed...!
