A powerful and affecting award-winning drama from feature writer / director Paddy Considine (Dead Man's Shoes), Tyrannosaur follows the story of two lonely, damaged people brought together by circumstance.

Joseph (Peter Mullan) is an unemployed widower, drinker, and a man crippled by his own volatile temperament and furious anger. Hannah (Olivia Colman) is a Christian worker at a charity shop, a respectable woman who appears wholesome and happy. When the pair are brought together, Hannah appears as Joseph's potential saviour, someone who can temper his fury and offer him warmth, kindness and acceptance.

As their story develops Hannah's own secrets are revealed - her relationship with husband James (Eddie Marsan) is violent and abusive - and as events spiral out of control, Joseph becomes her source of succour and comfort.

 best of british

This is why i love british films. Acting, plot and backdrop are superb.
The lead actor should have won several awards for the drunk mess he is.
Leaves a lasting impression on how depressing life in England can be.
Certainly worth creating a space on your shelf for this cracker.

 Worthy of its bafta

Paddy Considine has shown just how talented he really is in this film his directorial debut, ive always been a fan of him as an actor and hes shown that he is also just as good at directing. Outstanding Performances in particular from Olivia Colman in a film which opens up a world which we all like to think doesnt exist. Its Violent and heartwarming but also one of the best films ive ever seen.

 Must be watched

I watched this film today and I have to say it's brilliant, the subject matter is quite hard to deal with but don't let that put you off, the way it's made is beautiful, deep dark and very moving, paddy considine has directed a raw but true life story that we all try to ignore but know it's out there, the actors are a force to be reconed with portraying a real dark side to life, there's two films I've watched in the past week and both are exceptional (drive being the other), powerful acting, wonderful direction and will shock and warm your heart at the same time

 Strong, Powerful, Breathtaking!!

I saw this film the other day, and I must say it is very "sensitive". By that I mean violence, swearing and various forms of abuse are present. However, please do not let that put you off. The film has top quality actors, a very good storyline and was gripping from start to end. And after watching it, you will understand the title (There are no dinosaurs) I would really recommend this film. It's a fantastic representation of a true British film made on a small budget and a director who has nothing but passion. It deserves all the awards possible!!

 Heartrending

Its one of those films that you can't stop thinking about after you have watched it. Very emotional and moving. As a tale of our modern existance it is frighteningly true. Top marks to all involved.
