Witness the end of civilization unfold as hostile alien invaders attack the planet. As people everywhere watch the world's great cities fall, Los Angeles becomes the last stand for mankind in a battle no one expected. Now it's up to a Marine staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and his platoon to draw a line in the sand as they take on an enemy unlike any they've ever encountered in this epic sci-fi action film.

I've been wanting to see this for some time - I'm a sucker for alien invasion movies. It didn't disappoint! Think District 9 crossed with Black Hawk Down and you've pretty much got it. It doesn't have the social commentary of D-9 or the visual style of Black Hawk Down but it's fast, entertaining and has one of the best action scenes in a long long time. So, okay, the characters are paper thin, there's no character development and the dialogue is, frankly, awful at times. But hey, why would you watch a movie called Battle: LA? For just solid, brain in neutral entertainment, you can't go very far wrong! And hey, it's 1000 times better than Skyline.

 "..EPIC SCI-FI.."

This is a big and bold and epic sci-fi movie!! I loved it, its the years district 9. Fantastic visual effects blended in with realistic warfare and explosions and an epic battle between the human race and an alien invasion! The story was cool, the cast was great, this is a sit back relax and enjoy no brainer popcorn invasion movie pure and simple, certainly a must watch if you love a good original and quality sci-fi action movie!!

Although we have seen hundreds of alien invasion movies that range from terrible to brilliant, Battle LA is one of the better ones in rescent years.
A group of Marine grunts take on the E.T's might of huge alien invasion and with some well-placed shots, explosives and good old military ingenuity they fight tenticles to toe with the invading alien swarm.
It's part Independence Day (but better) and Blackhawk Down, with a bit of Skyline, War Of The Worlds and Monster mashed in for good measure. This is a blistering all action sci-fi adventure with brilliant effects and good acting, but is slightly let down by a cliched script.
But as alien attack movies go it ticks all the right boxes. Aaron Eckhart makes a brilliant stoical ageing commander, and amidst the battle ravaged set-pieces he gives the movie a dose of steely class.
The aliens themselves are a slight disappointment as the come across similar to the Prawns in Destict 9, but if you want action packed escapism on a massive scale this is a must see, it's far from subtle but's it a brilliant action packed bit of mayhem.
See if you like....
Independece Day.
Blackhawk Down.
Destrict 9.
War of the worlds (2005)
Skyline.
Monster.

This movie wasnt really on my must watch list, but watched it when on Holiday in Dubai.
Was pleasantly surprised, as it is a pretty tense and engaging Action,War,Robot,Sci-Fi flick.
After a brief introduction and a little bit of background info, the viewer along with the Platoon in movie is off on the mission at hand.
The movie throws you into the thick of the action and never really lets up, always Exciting, Visually Creative and above all Entertaining.
It has its fair share of cliches and certain things that are a staple of this genre. But a few of the twist n turns are good.
Aaron Eckhart is top notch in what is a rare lead role for him in a Action Movie, and he is supported well by a motley crew.
The Effects and Action and Aliens are all up to scratch and convincing.
A Solid Entertainer that is worth checking out.
