Pathfinder: Extended Edition (2007)

This would be a good film if it had a plot ! The plot is so basic. A Viking kid is left behind by his clan, when they are ship wrecked in anciant North America . The Kid is raised by the native American Tribes as there own. 15 years later the Vikings return. Now the Kid must fight to save his tribe from the Vikings ! But all is not lost, the film is brilliant to look at and the winter settings are beautiful. The violence is brutal and the director relishes every blood soaked scene. But the film is unintentionally funny, Just watch the underwater vision Karl Urban has, It's sheer comic brilliance ( for all the wrong reasons ). Also there are so many slow motion scenes of Vikings on horse back coming out of the mist, and slow motion amputions, if these were not in the film, the running time would be 25 minutes at best ! this is a lame and shallow version of the Excellent APOCALYPTO. And the film suffers with the Native Americans all having thick U.S. accents this is very off putting, and the film would have been better using the propper diolect and using subtitles. This is not a terrible film but could have been allot better. But if you want some brutal action and very little to think about , you could do allot worse. Just don't blame me if you have forgotten what the film was about a hour after viewing. A forgettable movie !

I have just watched this movie on a region 1 unrated disc, having read mixed reviews from the so called experts, I throughly enjoy the entire movie, The scenery is excellent, and the story is simple but intriguing, the action is good but dont expect Gladiator but in the same vane. It is good escapism.

This film is great. I really enjoyed it. Its action packed but also has emotional scenes which are quite sad. I recommend this to all who enjoy a good slash em up action movie.

i liked watching this because it is not the usual hollywoodmovie. it is placed between 800 and 900 a.d. on the northamerican continent, when vikings first landed on america, long before portuguese christopher columbus. although there is no evidence, scientists believe it happened.
i dont want to spoil and tell the story, but i can tell you it has lots of fighting action and never gets boring. also the landscape is very beautiful.

It's not the violence that bothers me (although at times it was not needed) its the plot and the fact that the vikings look like mythical creatures. I know some may disagree but in my opinion it was complete and utter rubbish so much so that I gave it to a friend for free and I'm a film fanatic and Keep ultimately all the films I get but not this one.
