While Rebecca's slacker brother, Tobey (Billy Crudup), can't seem to commit to his aspiring novelist girlfriend, Elaine (Maggie Gyllenhaal). Trust The Man is a little gem that passed under many peoples radar upon release.I rented it with my other half not thinking it would be that good even though it had a great cast and i think David Duchovny is one of the most under rated actors in Hollywood.
The story is good fun it covers relationships and how difficult life with kids and careers can really be.
I really enjoyed this film and would advice anyone to give it a go it is great fun to watch and most importantly easy viewing.

 Trust the little-known gem!

I think this is a little gem of a relationship comedy and it's a shame it's not better known! We went to see this after catchinga trailer not really expecting a lot but it's a real grower, following two couples through the ups and downs of trying to settle with one partner, or not. It does have a slow start, I admit, but by the time it picks up the whole cinema I saw it with was laughing away! Duchovny's accidental joining of a sex therapy group is hilarious alone. As a rom-com it's very good and at 3.99 just now a shameless bargain.

 I expected better.

I saw this DVD because David (X-files) was starring in it. The beginning was OK but the story was evolving too slowly. I expected better.
