Tim Burton's loving homage to the 50's "B" movies and the short run range of bubble gum cards, is an outstanding, funny and bizzare movie. The film has an all star line up, it even has Jack Nicholson playing two roles, and how many films can boast having Tom Jones fight of invaders from Mars?. The film may have big names above it's title, but the real stars are the Mean green invaders from the Red planet. These CGI creations are stil brilliantly realized over twelve years after the films first release. The plot of the film is none important, what really matters is the cruel and side splitting funny ways the Martians deliver our fate. This film was released not long after the other big budget invasion film of 1996 Idependence Day, and did suffer at the box-office because of this, but where Independece Day made the massive mistake of playing it seriouse but also being unintentionally funny. Mars Attacks plays it for sick laughs, and all the better it is for it.
