Producers Warp Films (This Is England, Four Lions) and director Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd) present a comedy which follows a 15-year old boy (Craig Roberts, Jane Eyre) with two objectives: to lose his virginity to the girl of his dreams before his next birthday, and to stop his mother (Sally Hawkins) from leaving his father (Noah Taylor, Shine, Life Aquatic) and hooking up with a new age mystic (Paddy Considine, Dead Man's Shoe's).  Best film I have seen in years.

Evidently by the name 'Britneydies', our one-starred reviewer isn't worth listening to. I want to do all that I can to promote this film - it is the best I have seen in years. The humour is so perfect; the acting is great; the storyline is beautiful. I cannot fathom why anyone would not love this film, it should get a lot more recognition - it is a true classic.

 Quite brilliant!

This is a wonderful film. Beautifully and originally shot, Submarine makes you smile, laugh and then suddenly well up and make you feel warm and full of melancholy. Coming-of-age films can sometimes tread a very weary path but this is a breath of fresh air. The two young leading actors are totally convincing and Paddy Considine once again proves he is the best british actor on the planet. A great directorial debut.

 Pure Tripe

Worst film i have ever seen.
All the good reviews made me go to watch it at the cinema, and i've never wanted to walk out more.
I kept saying to myself it would get better, instead it got more weird and more boring.

 Brilliant

This film went straight into my top 2 as soon as I finished watching it. It's a beautiful film that moved me to tears. The acting was absolutely perfect as was the story. In short, I loved it!!

 Painfully Perfect

Having only really known director Richard Ayoade from his appearences in The IT Crowd and The Mighty Boosh, I ventured out to see Submarine on a whim. To my delight, Ayoade captures the dysfunction of human relationships in the most cringe-worthy, uncomfortable and, (perhaps unfortunely) relatable of ways. I cried. With laughter. I think.
