Bugsy

Warren Beatty gives his best performance in years with this story based on the Legend in his own mind Gangster Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegal. With his disarming charm and good looks, that hide a very dark side of a violent and very dangerous personality. Beatty's real lfe wife, the excellent Annette Bening play Virginia " The Flamingo" Hill a glamerouse starlet, who has wise guy wit and a tough past. Together driven by greed, risk everything and take on the underworld bosses and build there own city of dreams in the middle of the desert-Las Vagas.
The film is well directed by Barry Levinson, the story is fascinating, with bouts of brutal gangland violence. Also it has a stella support cast with the likes of Ben Kingsley, Harvey Keitel and Joe Mantenga. The film should have been a classic, but just misses the mark, I can't put my finger on why, but it just misses that special spark.
This is still a great and forgotten gangster film, and I suggest anybody who has not seen it, should buy it as it's a great addition to any gangster movie fans collection.
