SGU follows a band of soldiers, scientists and civilians, who must fend for themselves as they are forced through a Stargate when their hidden base comes under attack. The desperate survivors emerge aboard an ancient ship, which is locked on an unknown course and unable to return to Earth.

In Season 2, the Destiny continues its journey through the Universe, while its crew suffers from a lack of supplies and no knowledge of its final destination. Struggling to control the ships systems, tempers and personalities of the crew clash. Facing uncharted space and enemies who would take the ship by force, the Destiny crew persevere in their struggle to stay alive and find a way home.

A brilliant piece of Scifi that will be missed.

Without a shadow of a doubt this season excelled itself, I was at the edge of my seat throughout and now find myself craving a third season. I think we can all admit season 1 started off rough around the edges, investing heavy time in character development before we had chance to gaze in awe at the new Stargate universe that was unfolding before our eyes.

However season 2 takes the viewer to new heights and with the story arc finally maturing and the Destinys vast corridors now more open to exploration (and the thus the secrets within) the plots have become more enjoyable and extravagant.

SGU season 2 is a brilliant example of good SciFi. The characters, the environment and the story telling have improved 10 fold since the first season to being it up to the standard we the viewers have come to expect after other amazing series like Battlestar Galactica. It's heartbreaking to know this is possibly the last season we get with the SGU crew. I just hope SyFy (or the now lack of) see the error of their ways and recommission SGU.

Highly recommended and something I believe you'll really enjoy. Even if you gave up during season 1, try it again, you'll be surprised how far it has come.

Stargate Universe was much better in season 2, it is a shame that syfy cancelled the show. If you love Stargate SG-1 & Stargate Atlantis you will love Stargate Universe. Cant wait for Season 2 to come out on Blu-Ray like season 1 :-)

Streets ahead of Season 1: if you didn't like the first season, watch this one as it will completely change your mind.

A Stargate series like no other.

Most of Desteny Crew have been taken by the Lucien Allince after surendering it to avoid more bloodshed. The Leader of the invaders wants to kill most of the crew and keep the civilens but they find a Stargate on a planet at long range of the ship and send them there. Minewhile Rush, Eli Scott and a few other who have not been found try to take back the ship, Rush has a plan to dial back the ships shields and kill the Allience crew but a few of their own people are outside the save zone Rush and Eli have set up and Rush may not wait for them to make it.

This is a great series and even though people have thought of it as a Battlestar clone it is a lot more then that. It has be canned now, a bad mistake give this series is and was the next stage of the Stargate series. Buy this series and enjoy a show that could have gone on to the universe and more so.

Much improved but sadly, too late......

To be honest, I was heavily critical of the first season - it lacked many things that would keep an audience intrigued. It was slow, cumbersome and at times appaling. However, Season 2 was vastly improved and I am in agreement with the other reviews. The second season became addictive, more involved and attracted you to the characters and the struggle they had to endure in a much greater way. It was infinitely better than the first incarnation of the series and I am sad that it had to die off in this manner (sadly down to poor viewing figures in the USA). However, not confirmed and this is ONLY A RUMOUR direct from the USA, it has NOT been cancelled fully - it is more ON HOLD, hence the last episode left as it was without any re-shooting. It has been cancelled by SyFy channel funding ceasing - they may have other options via other stations. AGAIN though, please let me emphasise, this is only the current rumour from a contact in the USA. SGU may be on hold for up to 'three years' - funny how that coincides with the storyline of the last episode. Watch the rumour mill.
