Academy Award winner Robin Williams delivers a brilliant performance in one of Hollywood's most compelling and thought-provoking motion pictures. Williams portrays passionate English professor John Keating, who, in an age of crew cuts, sport coats and cheerless conformity, inspires his students to live life to the fullest, exclaiming... "Carpe diem, lads! Seize the day. Make your lives extraordinary!" The charismatic teacher's emotionally charged challenge is met by his students with irrepressible enthusiasm - changing their lives forever. Magnificently directed by Peter Weir (The Truman Show), Dead Poets Society earned unparalleled praise among audiences and critics alike. Discover for yourself what all the cheering's about.

I went to see this film years ago, whilst on an outward bound course from college, I loved it then and I love it still.
Robin Williams is exceptional as the teacher who shows his pupils thats its good to be truly original and not to be afraid of being different.
Ethan Hawke in one of his early roles, superb acting makes you truly understand the frustrating position he is in
Robert Sean Leonard... well I cant understand why this guy isnt in any films any more, good looking and totally believable as the oppressed desperate young man, forced to fore-go his dreams because of a unitarian father.
funny, frustrating, desperately sad with an unbelievably inspiring end.
The feel good factor is overwhelming and makes me want to truly make a difference every time I see it.
Carpe- Diem, seize the day, follow this rule and have no regrets.
one of the all time greatest movies and one definately worth spending a fiver on to watch time and time again.
classic

This film is a classic! Robin Williams plays the teacher that the pupils look up to and he helps them grow in themselves and pursue their dreams (and even become poets!) An amazing story of love, hate, rejection, acceptance...definately worthy of anyones collection
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful

This film is an absoulute gem, I first watched it in an English lesson and have loved it ever since. It is an inspiring plot portrayed by the most fantastic actors. Robin Williams plays Mr Keating, the break-all-the-rules english teacher. Easily his best performance ver in my opinion, amazing. I love this film whole heartedly and in my opinion, there was no finer film during this period.
