Sidney Prescott, now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey and Gale, who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill (played by Emma Roberts) and her Aunt Kate (Mary McDonnell). Unfortunately Sidney's appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger.

The newest installment in the acclaimed franchise that ushered in a new wave of horror in the 1990s is written by series creator Kevin Williamson and directed by suspense master and director of the first trilogy, Wes Craven.

Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson are back on form with what is absolutely the best scream since the original!! This movie has all the classic cliques of modern slasher movies and oldskool too setting up yet another string of who done it murders with Sydney Prescott (Neve Campbell) right in the middle again, The kills are bloody and brutal once again! The idea for the story was great and the big reveal at the end was very well done and fits nicely into the current state of the world these days! The cast reunion was good, great to see all the faces from the originals back on form and the new cast fresh young faces like the wonderful Emma Roberts!! If your a big scream fan dont miss it!!!

The original Scream movie was, and still is a classic slasher that re-wrote the well worn serial killer movies from the late 70's and 80's, but like most of the slasher films it poked fun at the Scream series had ran out of steam by 2000's Scream 3 and resembled of being more like a Scooby-Doo episode than a self knowing slasher film, it was best to put the series on ice.
Fast forward eleven years and alot has happend to horror movies over the decade, as we all have been bombarded by all the Saw movies and gory for the sake of being gory slashers. Scream 4 arrives like a breath of fresh air, it's also re-writes the rulebook once again, and although it may be light on gore, it more than makes up for in thrills and laughs. The clever who done it script is smart and keeps you guessing who is ghost face, the reunion of the surviving memebrs of the original trilogy mixed with thew new cast of fresh faced victims is good, but unfortunatly it does underwrite some of the new cast, as they might aswell have victim chalked on the back. Wes Craven direction is swift and ramps up the tension that proves that although his success rate is very hit and miss, when Craven gets it right he delivers the goods, and this is a movie he has got mostly right. My only concern is that some of the younger viewers might wonder what all the fuss is about, as the were too young to remember the original Trilogy and was brought up on the likes of SAW and Hostel, but to us who loved the first, enjoyed the second and just about put up with the third will relish every minute.
Scream 4 might not be as good as the original 1996 movie, but is far superior to Scream 3, and there is very chance that this is a launch of another trilogy.
This is a top class slasher.
See if you liked....
Scream Trilogy (1996 -2000)
Halloween (1978)

Quite simply put its like putting on an old pair of slippers. You know you feel comfortable in familiar feelings. It has been 11 years since 'ghostface' was found to be somehow related to Sidney and guess what?...........Nooo i cant tell you that but all i will say is yes its true that its similar to the original but my god its good to have it back.the suspense the chills the old 'dont go upstairs you daft cow' moments.Wes Craven/Kevin Williamson seriously needs to be knighted(i know hes American but come on Lizzy) as he shows that when it comes to horror this man CANNOT be beaten!!! 10/10 and weirdly becomes the first horror franchise to have the original main characters to be in all 4 films(imdb)More please Mr.Craven/Williamson!!!

 please god,no more!!
