Side A: A Night to Remember
On April 10th, 1912, RMS Titanic sailed from Southampton on her maiden voyage. On her fourth night at sea she struck and iceberg and sank with the loss of 1,500 passengers and crew. The film faithfully depicts the drama, heroism and horror of the night the unsinkable sank.

Side B: The Making of a Night to Remember
Includes behind-the-scenes footage of the movie including interviews with producer William MacQuitty (who saw the ship launched) and the author of the book, Walter Lord. Features historical footage of the Titanic, the 1958 London film premiere and the original theatrical trailers.

But fortunately a great movie :)

This is not a re-release of the original edition by "The Rank Collection', which was a dual sided DVD-10, with 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen.

Now it's the same disc as in the "Kenneth More Collection", which means it's now a DVD-8 (positive), 1.66:1 (positive, since that's the OAR), but it's NON-ANAMORPHIC widescreen (which is absolutely a drawback in these times of omnipresence of widescreen television sets).

This was the very first dvd i bought when replacing my vhs collection.
Even though you know the story and how it ends there is no denying that the tension built up is superb. I still recall my very first viewing of this film and how I experienced different emotions as i watched. It totally gripped me. A Masterpiece of British talent and Filmmaking . Highly Recommended.
