The orginal and in my opinion the best Rocky movie in the franchise great underdog story about a amateur fighter given a shot at the heavyweight championship of the world against the cocky and arrogant champion played brilliantly by Carl Weathers and fantastic performances by Sylvester Stallone as Rocky and Talia Shire as the shy Adriana

I saw this for the first time recently, and thought it was a great film!
Stallone's performance is great, you truly feel for his character, and the fights are very convincing.
And, i admit, being a 19-year-old girl (heehee!), i liked the little romantic aspect the film has.
A truly gripping and uplifting film!

The very first movie of the series...and a true masterpiece written and interpreted by then unknown Sylvester Stallone who was the first actor after Orson Welles to be nominated for Best Writer and Best Actor Oscars the very same year.
This rags to riches story shows us the gloomy world of poor blue collar people in late seventies America...what's the hope? is the American Dream a reality?...
Everybody knows this film, but they should recognize the absolute masterpiece that it is.
