 Really, really creepy.

As I said, genuinely frightening. It has a pretty decent plot, but what's more important is that it has a perfect mix of tense moments and jump scares, and the use of old-school horror strings over the credits work perfectly - at the start it sends us instantly into horror mode.

Insidious is only marred by one certain 'workshop' scene (in my opinion) which gave the film the 'Jeepers Creepers effect' (copyrighted phrase :]). I don't want to give away the scene, but if you've seen both films you'll probably know what I mean.

I love horror movies, but I hardly ever get scared by them. I'm not trying to sound all macho, it's just that at worse I usually get a little freaked out then forget about it. Insidious and Paranormal Activity are probably the only two which have given me a hard time getting to sleep right after watching. And if that's not enough to prove that it's scary, I discovered I have marks on either side of my chest from grabbing so hard during the tense moments!

Fans of horror, take a look.

one of the worst horror films i have seen for a long time, very slow to get started and poorly acted, just going over old ground again, nothing new, hard to find any empathy with the characters no warmth or personality from any off them and totally predictable ending, very poor effort.

 Some must be easily pleased!

What starts off as a promising build up ends up a complete farse.
The tension is skillfully ramped up in the first half but what ensues in the second is truely laughable, you will know what i mean when the 'ghosthunters' turn up.
I was left feeling dissapointed at the end especially as it could have been such a great movie, when will hollywood learn that fear is created when you dont see everything and more is left to the imagination.

 WOW what a film!

When I went to see this movie I wasnt expecting to much but omg I was so wrong. This film gets you from the start and doesnt let go until the end, its the sort of film that you cant stop thinking about all the way home and has you talking about it for days. I am an avid horror fan and can usually take anything, I love scary films the most bacause they are the ones that stay with you, but I can quite honestly say that this film really got to me the twists and turns in this film kept me on the edge of my seat and nearly to a point where I almost couldnt watch any more. The best film of the decade in my opinion as it blows films like the grudge and paranormal activity out of the water. Be prepared to be really scared.

the 1st hour of this film had some of the most frightening scenes ive seen in a horror for some time, then after that hour things started to get a bit silly which i thought let it down just a little but overall this is one of the best horrors ive seen in a long time
