I thoroughly enjoyed Insidious, in fact one of the best horrors of 2011, there are chills a plenty with plenty of jump out your seats moments. Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne were great actors for this movie! But credit should go to Ty Simpkins who played the possessed child Dalton perfectly. For a thrilling and eery horror, I would recommend you give this a watch.

Paranormal Activity 1-4
House at the End of the Street
Starts off intriguing enough, as we slowly discover it is the comatose son who is haunted not the house, but then gets more outlandish and overblown when the father has to also enter the spirit world - affected by evil - to find and bring back his spiritual son from the Astral Plain. I've had an astral-travel experience myself, and it is much more powerful and subtle than this movie. If they stayed with the subtle approach then this movie could've been a classic. Instead, it is just a high-class B-movie, destined for the bargain bin in time...
I love horror films. I rarely ever get scared, or creeped out, so am always impressed when a film manages to do this. I thought Insidious was brilliant. The plot is very clever and almost could be true which makes it all the more erry. It made me go cold in certain parts and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Really like it. Have watched it about 5 or 6 times on DVD and it still has the same effect on me!
I love horror movies, and the one's I love the most are the one's that have you gripped to the edge of your seat, have jumpy moments, and make you feel freaked afterwards. 2 films managed to do that (Candyman 1 and Paranormal Activity 2) until today. This is going on the list. If it didn't have a couple of predictive moments, and a slight weak ending I would have given it 5*. I watched this during the day which kind of hindered the viewing. Most of the movie is shot in the dark so I may have to watch it again after dark to get a better perspective.
It starts off really promising, quite a few jumps and scares. But then it all goes a bit pear shaped. I am a massive wimp when it comes to watching horror films, The Grudge and A Haunting In America, have scarred me for life. This is rubbish. Like i said, a few jumps and scares at the beginning until you get to the root of the "hauntings", then the story is just rubbish. Avoid, like the plague.
I bought this dvd as i Love my horrors and wanted a good scare, but this did not deliver. After watching 40 minutes of the film, i thought this is going to be the best horror film in ages, but then it got really really silly, and not scary at all. Was a let down.
