He survived three years of hard time. Now comes a little family time.

Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Ray Liotta and Kelsey Grammer lead an all-star cast in this outrageously funny comedy!

When Tommy (Tim Allen) gets released from the big house, he discovers life on the outside is even crazier thanit was behind bars. Tommy's eccentric sister won't get off his back, his sexy ex-girlfriend won't leave him alone, and his former partner in crime won't take no for an answer. Through it all, Tommy just might find the girl of his dreams and get convicted of love in the first degree.

 Certifiably flimsy

There's nothing too crazy going on here with Allen (rather constipated, his mind was obviously more focussed on directing for the first time) playing an ex-con who has trouble settling into civilian life, especially with a slightly wacky ex-wife and an attractive parole officer to deal with. It's all rather anaemic really but Allen was very fortunate in getting so many of his actor buddies to show up. They lend the film a veneer of class it doesn't really deserve.
