Ok but there's better out there

I hate to contradict some of the other reviewers, but I have to say I was really disappointed with this film. I bought this, admittedly as it's cheap and I like to find bargains, but also because the reviews advised that it was a half decent film.
I have to say that I was wholly disappointed in truth. It has to be said that I found the film to be really slow and although some of the effects were half decent, there just wasn't any of the promised scares and excitement. Yes the Africa idea is original unfortunately there isn't enough horror to carry it through.
Take it from me, there are better out there.

  A TRUE ZOMBIE FILM

This is coming from a huge zombie fan and just of late there has been loads of cheap, poorly made films but this is different...... Yes it is a low budget film however in my opinion its in the league of films such as 28 days later. The zombies are classics, slow shufflers. The gore and the zombies all look real and the entire feel of the film is set out well. So at the price of 5.49 its well worth it. If you love a good zombie flick try it and these....rec, rec 2, dawn of the dead remake, 28 days later, 28 weeks later, all of the resident evil films, shaun of the dead, land of the dead and even the walking dead tv series.

It was a good film, the storyline kept me watching throughout the film and the acting was to the standard needed for the film give it a watch but its no land of the dead

  Classic what Romero should've done

Love this movie, Romero should've done this instead of his last three movies, extras really good to. Let's hope they make another!?..

  Such a let down!

I bought this film because of previous reviews and I am bitterly disappointed. I'm not sure what everyone else was watching but I sat through 111 minutes of bad acting, barely any dialogue and the film didn't really have a plot. Total hit and miss in my opinion! I'd get a refund if I could, it's just going to become a dust gatherer!

"..ONE OF THE BEST ZOMBIE MOVIES EVER MADE.."

| | See all sdx800's reviews (1708)

What a brilliant and unique horror film, this is certainly one of the greatest zombie movies since the 80s, set in beautiful parts of Africa a stranded American air force engineer must find his way to safety if such thing now exists with the help of an African soldier who is searching for his son. The cast is great the story is very original you will never have seen a zombie film quite like this, beautifully shot locations and some fantastically real gore and violence! These are classic slow walking dead like the good old days of zombie movies, there is so much realism to this film and you get sucked in straight away, a gem of a horror film, a must see at any cost for zombie fans, no zombie film in a long, long time has been this awesome, a for a low budget straight to DVD/bluray film its money well spent, Hollywood should take note.

  OUT OF AFRICA!

Before you think "Oh no not another no budget direct to DVD "Z" grade Zombie movie", think again!
Of course the film was shot on a minimum budget but what they did with it they get the maximum impact. Shot on location in Africa this Zombie epic it very stark and stomach churningly brutal. The Zombies are the ones of the 70's and 80's moany, groany, shuffly, shuffly ones. But this film is one nasty road movie with some amazing African locations that really had added impact.
To say these Zombies are slow the film is very un-nerving as it's the volume of them as they stagger around looking for live flesh, only to be killed again in brilliantly realised fashion.
The only time does the film show it's budget limitations is in a dream sequence that supposed to shot in America, but it looks to shot on my street.
If you like old school Zombie movies then you must see this.
It's nothing earth shattering, but it's better than most rescent big budget Zombie movies and that includes the Last three that George,A. Romero churned out!
See if you like.....
Night Of the Living Dead.
Dawn Of The Dead.
Day Of The Dead.
Zombie Flesh Eaters.
Walking Dead Seasons 1 and 2.
