The Howling Reborn

the film brings action suspense and all round werewolf's the plot was okay but seemed liked you knew what was going to happen before it happens the acting was good the whole movie it self was best watched once and then left for a while but it was alright for a werewolf film

I have always been a massive fan of the original 1980 Joe Dante movie, but the less said about the pathetic sequels the better.
Howling Reborn does raise the bar dramaticaly on the sequels (not a hard thing to do) but if you think you'll see a film reflecting the originals menace mixed with laughs you'll be disappointed. Howling Reborn is a cross between Twilight and Teen Wolf. But although the film had obvious budget restrictions it's two leads and love story is actually very good. The first twenty minutes the guy in the film looks like Harry Potter until his Lycan hormones kick in. As said the film aims at the Twilight Team Jacob fan base, but instead of morngy mopeing and nothing much happening this film runs at a pretty good pace and at times almost forgets it's a Werewolf film and this is what lets the movie down as when the werewolves arrive they resemble the Orcs (from Lord Of The Rings) and stunt ment in rubbish looking werewolf suits with stupid looking tails, mixed with some cheap looking CGI. Thankfully most of this is done with quick cuts or in the shadows. Of course this is due to the films short production time and small budget, but if you get by it's short comings this is a pretty entertaining teen horror/ romance that will not give the younger viewer any nightmares.
