This is Spinal Tap: Special Edition (2 Discs)

Often rated as the greatest comedy film of all. If you are old enough to remember the heyday of "heavy metal" as I am, this brilliant spoof hits all the right notes.
The sad thing is its all so close to reality!! , the songs really were that sexist, the pants really were that tight and the band members really did think they were the next Beethoven!
All the pretentious nonsense is so brilliantly captured and yet you cant help but love the band members as they stumble to the next humilliating diasaster dressed in the tightest spandex ... fantastic !!

I'm sure I don't need to tell you about Spinal Tap. This is the best rockumentary out there and a damn funny film. What I do need to tell you is how good this DVD is. You get a load of extras from music videos, to ad spots, to deleted scenes and a ton more. But the most essential thing on this DVD is the commentary from the Spinal Tap actors IN CHARACTER! The result of this is a second film where the Tap reacts to the injustice commited by Marty DeBurgi's rocumentary and reminise over the goings on with the tour at the time. Watch the film without and then watch it with the commentary for maximum enjoyment.

This has got to be one of the funniest films EVER! I love it. Filmed in the style of a Documentary following one of America's Heavy Metal bands, Spinal Tap. This "Mockumentary" epitomises and pokes fun at the quintessential rock bands of the 70's and early 80's. The film is packed with hilarious moments, such as getting lost backstage, how to turn an amp up to 11, and having numerous drummers die in a range of bizarre and ridiculous circumstances.

Not only is the film itself very funny, but the songs that Spinal Tap play are hysterical, especially Sex Farm, Stonehenge and the aptly titled Big Bottom.

The 2 disc edition also comes jam-packed with extras, including commentaries, a whole marathon of deleted scenes and some of the funniest music videos you are ever likely to see.

This is a hysterical film, one of my personal favourites; it's well worth the value and I highly recommend it.

If you thought the film was funny as it stands then watch it again with the commentary on - it's better still. The commentary features the surviving members of the band (ie all of them bar the drummers) reviewing the mockumentary as their characters - it has to be one of the best commentary tracks on any DVD released. Get rid of that old VHS and buy the DVD!
