  The Reunion....

| | See all blayboy's reviews (447)

Similar to the original American Pie in terms of story and humor only this time it's 13 years on and its the reunion. Some of the character seems a little more settled but its debatable if some have matured! There's lots of laughs but I did feel more could have been made of the plots and situations. Having grown up with these films it felt a little sentimental at times! Things have moved on, its not as energetic as the first films as you would probably expect but still entertaining!

  Not so funny Pie

I couldn't wait to get this on dvd. I am a great fan of American Pie and have had some side splitting moments with the previous films. Unfortunately this one didn't quite live up to my expectations and I was left a bit disappointed. There were some funny moments but not so funny that they had my sides aching with laughter.

Enjoyable silly fun with some old friends...

While not been the best, but certainly far off from the worst, this is still a very enjoyable return to the original franchise that we all know and love.
After countless sequels, only relatable through the appearance of jims dad, this is a pleasent return to form, if you enjoyed the first two American Pie films then you should love this.
Its like catching up with old friends everyone is back down to the milf guys and stiflers mom. 10 Years have passed and these guys still haven't grown up and thank god we need them as immature as possible for the belly laughs, mainly attributed through Jason Biggs and Seann William Scott. both are perfect for their roles as Jim and Stifler both with perfect comic timing, Jim's bedroom opening of the film is hilarious and very reminiscent of the first film.
Alyson Hannigan is also just as brilliant as Michelle who is just as dirty minded as ever.
By the time the end credits role you will be wanting more lets just hope a fifth is in the works.

  brilliant!

I think that this would be a fitting end to american pie, and I do hand on heart wish that this is the last of them, as I do not think that anymore would do them justice. This hit the last target of what these actors can do in a funny sense before they get too old to carry of these characters and also the jokes. Most of the actors are really no bodies, and are usually in limbo waiting for another american pie film. Hopefully this will be the last though and that is from a fan. It seemed a fitting end.

Everything I wanted it to be. If you were a big fan of the originals and were waiting for them to FINALLY release a new film with the original cast then the wait is over, and boy was it worth it.

This film was so funny with lots of laugh out loud moments, a reunion was the perfect way to bring all the characters back together, and when I say all the characters, I mean ALL the characters. This wasn't done half-heartedly they literally got everyone from the first film in it.

Basically, if you liked the original 3, you'll love it.

The gang has all grown up ..... Apart from Stifler!

| | See all MovieAddict's reviews (1336)

It's been almost ten yeas since American Wedding and after that all those direct to DVD spin off's, So there's no better time to catch up with the gang and see how they are dealing with adulthood. The thing about the series that lifted it above all the rest of the gross-out teen comedies was under all the gags was a heart that rang true and we could relate and also like the characters. Now with them all grown up the film also plays it smart, by although at times being gross out funny they still have to deal with all the baggage and problems of family life..... Apart from Stifler who has not grown up one bit. So the gang meet up for the Class of 99 re-union and try to re-live those glory days whilst also balancing family life. As you can understand these now thirty somethings do not fit in to the teenage life styles of today and react more like dirty old men. To this there are some great 's still after anything with a heatbeat and getting revenge on some identikit teenage guys. But the heart of the film again liess on Jim and his dad's relationship who again gives advice but is also quite touching due to his loss three years prior. The film does at times feels a bit tired as it seems to fall between two stools as the cast are too old to fit into the teen-comedy market and the context is too gross-out to fit in the comedy drama market, but when funny it hits a bullseye even if it's just to see Stifler's revenge on Finch and you must stick around while the end credits roll as if this is the last film in the series it does go out on a high.
The American Pie series may now feel tamer after rescent years gross-out comedies such as Both Hangover's and theTeenage audience may wonder what all the fuss is about, but for all of us who loved the original trilogy they should enjoy this finall slice of pie.
