Returning to the genre he helped define, Sir Ridley Scott has crafted the most unforgettable experience of 2012 in Prometheus. This gripping, thought-provoking and often terrifying masterpiece features a stellar ensemble cast including Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Noomi Rapace, Logan Marshall-Green and Idris Elba and is a must-have for any self-respecting film fan.

After scientists Elizabeth Shaw (Rapace - The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) and Charlie Holloway (Marshall-Green - Devil) discover mysterious cave drawings that point to the origins of mankind, they soon find themselves aboard the spaceship Prometheus, sponsored by Weyland Industries and on a journey to uncover the secrets of humanity. Overseen by the imperious Meredith Vickers (Theron - Snow White & The Huntsman), looked after by the android David (Fassbender - X-Men: First Class), and backed up by a team of scientists Shaw and Holloway arrive on the isolated moon LV-223 to discover an abandoned alien spaceship and the truth... that not all is as it seems...

I am 41, I remember Alien first time round and saw Aliens in the cinema at 16 then, Alien 3, Loved Alien Resurrection, and played both Playstation Games..... I don't want to give away the Film but ...Mr Ridley Scotts vision was Thought Out Well before....Alien, (the First Alien film, NO not Alien 1 ) ALIEN. If you played the PS or (whatever console) Alien games then it goes back to the Bone Ship. Makes total sense to me, and saw 3 times at the cinema. twice in 3D and once (last in Normal cinema) if you a fan of Alien and not some kid who thinks they are a critic. GET THIS FILM! Highly Recommended :)

Absolute rot - boring, boring, boring

Yes it looks nice, yes it is well acted, yes it has nice SFX. Story and link to the Alien franchise virtually nonexistant. Lots of waffle about finding a genetic link - its a film that thinks it is being clever when it is just dull even the odd scenes that are suppost to be funny are clunkers. Another example of a rubbish script given a green light. Has no one heard of the saying that you can not polish a tu ..... rd.
Dont waste your cash.

After the disapointment of Aliens 4 it is great to have Ridley Scott back to take control. Prometheus offers a great story, great actors, great action, fantastic huge sets and thrilling suspense. Everything an Alien film should have. Even as a prequal is works. George Lucas could learn a lot here. No matter how good a computer animation is it cannot beat a real set. It feels so much more.....well, real! And you can tell by the acting. They are actually there in the mud and dust and not in front of a nice cosy blue screen.

A respectable and grand new vision of Alien. Had me on the tip of my seat the entire time. Can wait til the next one!
