Ridley Scott's Alien prequel ("Oh no it isn't! "Oh, please!") tries so hard to be clever that it forgets it needs to make sense. Have fun spotting the risible rubbish scattered throughout - from the factual inaccuracies, to the inconsistent characterisations, to the physical impossibilities, to the script's vast (and unfounded) pretensions, you will be left with one of two reactions - either you will truly admire the Emperor's New Clothes, or else you will sit with your mouth open at one of the greatest stinkers of recent years..

Really great eye candy though.

It was hard to get interested in the concept of Prometheus seeing as everyone in modern moviemaking has been workshopping Chariots of the Gods since it debuted, and it was even more hard seeing as the faith in the Alien franchise has been permanently extinguished since 1997.

Ridley Scott himself returned to make Prometheus to reignite the spark that Alien gave us way back in 1979. And the result is...a warm flame that could be easily blown out by a sneeze.

Prometheus isnt bad, it's good to watch and looks great and this movie should restore credibility to Scott's technical direction and cinematography at the very least. The acting is good and the cast is really great, but the whole thing doesnt leap out at you or make you jump like Alien did all those years ago.

Prometheus isnt groundbreaking and it won't change your life and the future (and inevitable sequels) may bring more to the table after a whole bunch of stuff happened at the end. Prometheus is a fairly good watch and you'll stay awake the whole time, just don't clutch that pillow in fear too much.

After high anticipation, I was expecting a lot more from this film, as a prequel to the brilliant 'Alien'. This movie has several large plot holes, such as when the main character has a C-Section, and is running, jumping and walking around afterwards - with hardly any complications or pain. That really bothered me. Visually, the film is stunning - 3-D technology was used to shoot the entire film, and in that aspect, it really did pay off. That is where the movie deserves two stars only - as well as the winning performance from Fassbender. Aside from the stunning effects, the film really didn't do it for me - the plot was predictable, too obvious, and most of the characters were very wooden - I was not upset when several of the characters died. Don't bother buying the film - you will most likely be disappointed.

What a great film and another Alian classic. Not as much action as the originals BUT it's back ground story filling. Left it wide open for a sequal which I hope they make. Some fantastic effects, 10/10 for me.

I have heard that this movie was well worth getting by so many people so i decided to get in my collection, i did however notice the bad comments it got from this site. I must say that after watching the movie i did wonder if the people who wrote those comments was watching the same movie as i did. If you like the Alien films then you will not regret getting this too. I enjoyed it alot and i guess it just go to show that everyone has there own opinion.

One of the best films this year (which isn't hard anyway). As a long standing fan of the Alien franchise I wasn't dissapointed in this film. It is definatley worth watching 2 or 3 times to absorb everything that is going on but throughout the film it kept me glued to my seat in suspense! Can't wait for the next film in the series to come out as it will be even better and more action packed than this one. Love the ending too you need to watch this.

Amazing plot, acting, casting choices, effects and directing! What more can you ask for in a film? I was very intrigued by Charlize Therons' character as I think Ridley Scott isn't telling his audience something about her, but I'm not going to spoilt it. But I do belive my theory is correct about her. It's a definite buy for any film fanatic.

This film is a complete mess, the direction of the story makes changes and has characters that are absolutely pointless. Charlize Theron's part serves no actual purpose to the story, she might as well have been a piece of furniture.

The only reason that this is recieving high ratings from others is because they mistake overused CGI for good film making. Don't buy this, don't even accept money to watch it.
