When I first heard the rumours that this movie was in production, I got really excited, being a fan of the Alien movies. But, although I liked it, this movie was quite disappointing. The trailer made it look much better than it was, and it had virtually no relation to the Alien films until, literally, the last few seconds. But apparently the story will be continued in an anounced sequel, and even though it's not anything like the Alien series you should judge it on it's own merits. The special effects were brilliant, as were the sets, alien designs and it was quite well acted, which still didn't prevent it from being a bit slow, dragged out and confusing. The beginning didn't make sense, the plot was confusing as was the fairly week ending. Many scenes of the film did not make any sense, nor did the overall storythat much. Things got interesting just gone halfway-through, and it was quite dramatic, up until the big climax, which was rushed, confusing, and compared to the big build up to it, it was very weak. The characters weren't that memorable but the pacy action in the middle and near the end made the film exciting, and is well worth checking out. Prometheus did not live up to it's name, supposedly being the "most anticipated film in cinematic history", but it was still quite good and I'll probably end up watching the sequel/sequels. Worth a watch.
