I enjoyed this series but thought it was very slow starting.
After disc 1 it really starts to liven up.
All the way through i did not know what way it would go.

Great ending to series 1 aswell.

When it come to Homeland you can believe the hype. This is one of the smartest TV shows to hit the screen in years. The plot twists and turns so much you are pulled from one side to another cleverly leaving you not knowing if to trust Brody (Excellent Damien Lewis) or thinking it's paranoia on the behalf of CIA agent Carrie Mathison (equally good Clair Danes) once the plot strands start linking the show grips like a vice and never lets up until the final episode. To go over the plot would spoil it for the ones new to the show, but all I can say is that I was hooked.
This is classy TV but my only concern is that now FOX TV know they are onto a winner will they have the common sence to conclude the show before it runs out of steam and ideas and tarnish this most impressive first season.
See if you like.....

I watched this all the way through. Now I can't get back the time they stole from me. As is usual with American shows, they start off brilliant and then they think 'hey this is doing well - let's not end it as it should be ended, but get ready to spin it out to another season'. This could have been fantastic if they completed the story as it should have been finished, instead of screwing another season - possibly more out of it.

  Gripping drama

I have been waiting for another US drama series pretty much since 24 and Prison Break ended, and Homeland definitely makes the grade. The acting is intense and superb, and series 1 just became more and more addictive with each episode. The buzz spread around the office and before you knew it everyone was hooked. Buy this, you won't be disappointed.

  gripping psychological drama

Great to see Claire Danes back on form as the highly troubled CIA agent Carrie Mathison, this series had me on the edge of my seat and the finale was excruciatingly tense! I found the backdrop of modern-day war and political turmoil really interesting as well as the way the two main characters Carrie and Brody developed over the course of the series. If you like high quality, gripping drama, you will love this, believe all the hype.
